Innovative Oil Mist Capture for the Spray Oiling System at Benteler in Schwandorf

For the bending line area, the Benteler project team was looking for a solution to optimally capture and separate the oil mist from the robots' production area for the internal pipe oiling. Instead of the originally planned extraction hood solution, Benteler chose the concept by Schuh Anlagentechnik in the course of the solution finding process: a combination of a blowing and extraction system. This concept reduced the volume flow by more than 60 % and achieved significant savings in heat and electrical energy.

Concept: Aerodynamic Enclosure with a Directed Air Jet

The concept features an aerodynamic enclosure with a directed air jet which specifically guides the oil mist towards the capture point and the swirl tubes. The oil mist is separated by 2 oil mist separators of the KT series by Schuh Anlagentechnik, connected in series.

Delivery and Installation

In addition to the engineering, the order covers the delivery and installation of the air curtain and the extraction system. Delivery and installation were scheduled for July 2021.
