New Standards in Dedusting Systems for Roll Straightening Machines

For the construction of a high-performance dedusting system for its roll straightening machine, the specialist in wholesale steel sheets up to 25 mm thickness and 2,100 mm width selected the filter and dedusting system technology of Schuh Anlagentechnik GmbH from Castrop-Rauxel, Germany.

When selecting the extraction and dedusting system, particular focus was placed on innovative bag filter technology, space-saving designs, high system availability, low maintenance requirements, and reliable fan technology with modern control cabinet engineering. After extensive preliminary studies and concept development, the solution from Schuh Anlagentechnik was chosen, featuring the Schuh RA Series round filter as the core component. This system combines the advantages of pre-separation through an integrated cyclone effect with highly efficient air purification.

State-of-the-Art Dedusting Systems for Industrial Applications
The Schuh Filter unit was specifically designed for the capture and separation of metal dust. The core of the solution is the RA Series Pulse-Jet Sleeve Filter. Thanks to the tangential air inlet, coarse dust particles are pre-separated at an early stage, effectively protecting the filter bags from mechanical damage.
The dust-laden exhaust air is thoroughly cleaned as it passes through the filter sleeves and is directed to the upper discharge section. The purified air is then discharged to the atmosphere via a high-performance radial fan. This ensures reliable, sustainable, and energy-efficient dedusting system performance for continuous industrial operation.

Project Schedule and Future Outlook
Following the contract award in May 2025, detailed planning and engineering began. Delivery of the system components was successfully completed in November 2025. Production start-up is scheduled for early 2026.
With this investment, Holvoet is relying on a future-proof, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly solution in the field of extraction, filtration, and dedusting systems for roll straightening machines.
