Oil mist extraction system at the take-up reel for trimming shears / slitting system - GEORG prefers the swirl tube technology of Schuh Anlagentechnik at Elval Project
GEORG is the specialist for sophisticated solutions in coil processing and machine tool engineering with a focus on roller machining located in Kreuztal in North Rhine-Westphalia.
As part of the cooperation between GEORG and Elval, one of the world's leading manufacturers of flat-rolled aluminum, an oil mist extraction system was required for the slitting line with trimming shears in the area of the the coiling reel in order to drain the hazardous oil mist out of the work area. This oil mist is caused by oil particles detaching from the strip surface at very high machine speeds.
After extensive research, the GEORG technical team decided on Schuh Anlagentechnik for the concept of the oil mist extraction system with swirl tube technology. The Schuh Anlagentechnik concept of the oil mist extraction system provides for the linear and uniform collection of the oil mist in the area of origin using space-saving swirl tubes. After it has been collected, the oil mist passes through a pipe system into the vertically arranged KT series oil mist separator. After the oil droplets have been agglomerated in stage 1, the large droplets are separated in stage 2 and the small droplets are separated in stage 3. The cleaned exhaust air is then discharged to the outside via the radial fan.
The order includes the engineering, delivery, supervision of assembly and commissioning. Delivery and assembly is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022.
