Oil Mist Extraction System by Schuh Anlagentechnik for 20-Roll Cold Rolling Mill at Aperam Successfully in Operation

To expand its processing capacities for stainless steel strips of grades AISI 300 and 400, ANDRITZ Metals sourced the complete air technology for the 20-roll cold rolling mill designed in 4-column construction from Schuh Anlagentechnik. The innovative oil mist extraction system has now been successfully in continuous operation for almost 12 months – confirming the reliability and efficiency of the separation technology of Schuh Anlagentechnik.

Oil Mist Extraction System for 140,000 m³/h – Complete from a Single Source

The scope of supply of Schuh Anlagentechnik comprised the planning and delivery of key components for the oil mist extraction system with a volume flow of 140,000 m³/h including clean and dirty oil tanks, the basement ventilation and – in a separate construction phase – the ventilation for the transformer building and the switch cabinets. Schuh Anlagentechnik thus covers the complete air technology for the cold rolling mill: from the capture of the oil mist via the separation to the cleaned exhaust air.

Successful Implementation Despite Pandemic-Related Disruptions

After the order was placed in January 2020, the Schuh team ensured delivery from mid-2020 despite pandemic-related disruptions. Following successful assembly by the end customer and completion of the commissioning work, the entire package could be handed over to the end customer in November 2021.
