For the construction of a new fume extraction system at its four-high cold rolling mill, Kaltband AG selected the plant engineering specialist hpl to implement a customized oil mist extraction system and high-performance oil mist separator from Schuh Anlagentechnik GmbH.

Following extensive preliminary studies and technical concept development, the decision was made in favor of the comprehensive solution offered by the German specialist, which focuses on the development of advanced oil mist extraction systems and oil mist separators for industrial applications.

State-of-the-Art Oil Mist Extraction Systems for Industrial Applications
Schuh Anlagentechnik is supplying a system specifically optimized for efficient oil mist extraction and separation in cold rolling mills. The core of the solution is a well-designed combination of suction hoods, ducting systems, and a KK-series oil mist separator featuring pre-agglomeration and fine filtration.
The suction hoods capture rising oil mist efficiently at both the sides and center of the rolling mill. The contaminated air is then transported to the separator, where oil aerosols are removed through pre-agglomeration and high-efficiency filtration.
The cleaned air is discharged outdoors via a radial fan and exhaust stack, while an integrated silencer ensures compliance with noise emission standards. This modern oil mist extraction system significantly improves workplace safety, environmental protection, and production efficiency.

Project Schedule and Future Outlook
Following contract signing in May 2025, detailed engineering and production planning began immediately. Delivery of the oil mist extraction and oil mist separator system is scheduled for November 2025, with commissioning and production start planned for early 2026.
